The Oregon Secretary of State (SOS) is an agency consisting of several public facing divisions including the Archives, Audits, Corporation, and Elections divisions. There are three internal services divisions including Business Services, Executive, Information Systems and Human Resources.
SOS had some challenges with their IT infrastructure. They had plans for adding many new IT applications over the next few years to better serve their customer Divisions. The SOS Agency had a need for an outside independent infrastructure specialist(s) who could review the existing environment and based on a set of defined future needs, provide a best practices set of recommendations and/or validate the current infrastructure and direction.
VIE was hired to provide a review of their current IT infrastructure. Specific goals included scalability, application redundancy, and security requirements.
VIE performed the assessment and provided SOS with several key recommendations for scalable and reliable IT infrastructure.
